is there a reason why we always have to publish through the cloud as it is a very slow process, and as has been pointed out to me by our marketing and also security teams, we cannot send videos that contain corporate sensitive information to a cloud and then get permission to download it? I have a power computer and it makes sense to be able to render locally, and directly to MP4? Is this something you are considering?

You can publish locally, just not to MP4. You can publish as AVI, MOV, WMV & JPEG/PNG image sequences.
