Typing in Japanese characters. I don't understand this step...

I have read a few posts that have already been made regarding how to get the hand to "write" Chinese/Japanese characters, but I don't quite understand one of these steps listed here (http://help.videoscribe.co/support/discussions/topics/1000025259/page/2?url_locale=)


Specifically, I don't understand step 2 that says...


"convert the text to outlines with color fills (black or whatever color you want your text to be) and no strokes. This step prevents the videoscribe hand from trying to draw the outline of each letter."


What does "convert the text to outlines with color fills and no strokes" mean, and how does one go about doing that?

Start with step 1... what program are you using?

Hi Mike,

I am using Inkscape.

 

(be sure to install the older version of inkscape (0.48.5) because the new one causes a variety of problems with SVGs used in videoscribe.)
