Hello

I have a question related to both Illustrator and Video Scribe. It is hard to explain so I did a video. The video shows you what I did to set things up so you can answer the question at the end of the video concerning drawing strokes that are hidden in Illustrator. It is about  80 seconds so hopefully I don't bore you too much.

If you watch, I know some will tell me the solution is to do the 2 images separately in Illustrator but the problem is part of a larger project and I didn't want to bore you with all the details -- so the solution to do them in Illustrator separately won't work for the larger project.

Your thoughts on why this happens and any solution would be appreciated.

videoscribe will always draw stroked paths even if they are hidden.

Hi,
You could try changing the second (hidden) stroked path to a filled path if you want to keep it in the SVG for placement purposes. Then it might not "draw" and it might retain the same import size and position.

Hey Mike...sorry to bother your, but I just went to google and typed

convert stroke path to fill path in Illustrator and from what I read it can't be done.

I want to make sure I'm using the right terminology for my search or if you know how to do it I would appreciate your input.

Hi,

I think you can just select your stroked path by clicking the right side of the layer for that path in your layers menu.

Then look at the stroke and fill colors in your main tool bar. the fill color should be null (white with a red diagonal line through it. and the stroke color is whatever color you have chose. Just swap them using the little swap arrow beside those color swatches.  I think the shortcut key is shift+x
