Yep, that was it. Had to turn it to multiply and no need to add the target as you suggested. But a pity that gif cannot have a transparent background.
Thanks Mika
Hi Shakira,
VideoScribe does not support Transparent GIFs.
As VideoScribe layers things on the canvas, if you have a transparent GIF's you will see the previous frames behind it.
Please see this Instant Answer which has more details on GIF's
Hi Shakira, Thanks for the explanation.
We are removing that GIF shortly as it should not have been uploaded.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
I had the same issue, and I also found that removing the transparency and setting each layer to image size worked to fix the animation. It's a bit annoying, but it worked.
Hi, I'm having a similar issue. But mine is that Videoscribe has slowed down the GIF animation. My GIF edited in Photoscape X works really well but when I put it into my scribe it snail slow?
I originally created the GIF in Photoshop but then took it into Photescape X as recommended.
My GIF was supposed to show a gas meter speeding around using a lot of energy. (Which it does in preview.) It doesn't give the effect in Videoscribe.
Any suggestions please! (Client waiting! Arrrgh!)
Thanks,
Richard
For specific suggestions about an image, please attach the image so someone can evaluate it and/or test it.
GIF problems are likely the result of:
1) image dimensions are too large
2) frame rate too high or low
3) file size too large
4) too many colors
5) incorrect settings in videoscribe
6) possibly other issues?

What animation time do you have on the GIF in VideoScribe? If the animation time is set to longer than the original GIF length it'll play slower. The animation time is essentially how long it will take to play one loop of the GIF, you can then set to play continously if you want it to keep looping around after you have moved onto drawing the next element in your project.
Hi Barry,
Your quick reply is much appreciated!
That's the answer! Thank you. I've set the animation in Videoscribe at about 6 seconds long and my GIF is only as couple of seconds long.
Brilliant - Case closed!
Richard
Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for your suggestions. Much appreciated.
I'll certainly keep those in mind next time I make a GIF.
Richard
hello ! \
can you tell me please how to animate transparent gif properly work in videoscribe
please answers my question
Esteban Maskin
I made an animated gif and when uploading it to the scribe, the result was an overlapping frames.
Tried to modify the attributes in the properties panel, but no luck.
I attached a couple of screen shots and the gif itself.
Thanks in advance for the help.
