posting on Facebook

I just purchased the Pro version of VideoScribe.  I have completed a couple of videos, but cannot post them on Facebook.  I get all the way to the prompt that says, Publish to Facebook Wall and the bar across the bottom is blue, but nothing happens.  Ideads?

Hi Chris,

are you able to publish your scribe as a MOV file and upload to Facebook manually?

This is from our list of known bugs in version 2:

Some users have reported freezing when they try to export or create a video. This is an intermittent problem and seems to be related to the WMV format and affects Powerpoint, Facebook and Youtube options.

Workaround

Free users - if you have this issue please try renaming and saving a copy of the scribe to the base folder. Once this is done, open the scribe and retry.

Pro users - if you have this issue please try renaming and saving a copy of the scribe to the base folder. Once this is done, open the scribe and retry using another format such as .Mov (Quicktime) or FLV (Flash video).

We are currently working on a fix for this.

Please let me know if you have any further issues.

Nothing Works for uploading video on Facebook or Youtube. It gets freezed after taking facebook details or youtube details, in free trial version.. Very good app, but uploading is pain. :(

1) ipad or PC version?

2) It might indicate a problem with your scribe. Try making a new blank scribe, adding just one image and then rendering that as a test.

3) if the single- image scribe renders okay, then: TIPS to Avoid or Fix Videoscribe freezes, crashes, slowdowns, failure to export, or erratic behaviours.

Hi Kiran,

Once you have entered your YouTube or Facebook details the software will upload the scribe. It may not be that obvious that anything is happening but it may take a while to complete depending on the size of the scribe. The video file that is being uploaded can potentially be quite large.

You can check that the VideoScribe application is using the network by checking Activity Monitor (Mac) or Task Manager (PC). If you see that the network is being used by VideoScribe then you just need to wait for the upload to complete. If you find that the network usage has dropped down to zero then either the upload has completed or there may have been an error.

The reason for the error may be that the network went down for a second or the connection was lost. If this is the case then it may be that if you try again it will work. If you try again and it still doesn't work, please raise a support ticket, save your scribe to your online directory (cloud icon) and let us know the name.

I have the same problem after purchasing the pro version.  During the trial I was able to post to Facebook.  Now it just hangs up.  I got a screen shot for reference.
My computer is Macbook Air with OS X Yosemite version 10.10.3 and my Videoscribe is version 2.2.1.  I had it on the whole night and no upload took place.

Hi KL,

Are you able to publish your scribe as a MOV, save to your computer and upload to Facebook manually? I would recommend restarting VideoScribe before you try this.

It is strange that you were able to upload during the trial but not since going Pro, the Free trial and Pro software are exactly the same. I suspect that there may be another issue that is preventing the upload other than the upgrade.

Has anything changed with regard to your network set-up recently?

Hi Matthew,
Thank you for the quick response.
I am able to publish my scribe as a MOV (or WMV) file and manually uploaded them to Facebook.  I didn't try them on YouTube.
I updated Videoscribe to version 2.2.2 after writing the comment and restarted my computer.  Then I tried to publish directly to FB but still no success.
Also, I didn't make any change to my network.  I could restart the network too if needed.
Thanks again for your quick response.  Unfortunately I still can't do what I wanted to yet.
Regards, KL

Hi,

I have been struggling for weeks now, trying to upload a video scribe onto Facebook. I have tried downloading it straight from video scribe but it just freezes, and I have also saved it and tried uploading it on Facebook, but the blue loading bar just stops at certain points. I have tried it from a several computers and made sure the whole video is at 100% zoom wise. Just stuck of what to do now, but I really need to upload it onto Facebook asap.

Hi,
1) Have you tried saving a video to your computer in MOV format instead of WMV, and then uploading that video to facebook directly through your facebook page?

2) How big is the video file?

3) You may also want to save your project to the cloud folder and raise a ticket for customer support to look at it.

(Customer support works monday through friday during regular UK business hours)

4) Or check out this thread about common issues that interfere with rendering:
http://help.videoscribe.co/support/discussions/topics/1000065281
(100% zoom on individual elements is not the only potential problem)

1) Have you tried publishing a new very small project, with just one image, to facebook? Does that work?

2) A variety of other issues besides zoom can lead to memory usage problems and failure to publish:

3) if you want customer support to look at it during business hours, save the project to the cloud folder and raise a ticket.

Hi Candace,

Sorry that you have this problem. Please open a support ticket, save the scribe to your online directory and let us know the name of the scribe in the ticket. We can then take a look for you.
