Illustrator Crashes when opening .svg from VideoScribe

Every time I "export .svg as" from VideoScribe, and open it in Illustrator (2015.3), it crashes Illustrator. This is pretty much 95% of the time. I have to save to both versions (.ai and .svg) in order to change anything on the file.

Any thoughts?

Please attach an SVG here that crashes illustrator for you, and maybe someone can make a suggestion.

Attached is one of the files.

oh I thought this was an image included with videoscribe.

1) If it is an image that you are importing into videoscribe, there is not any reason for you to export the SVG from videoscribe. Just open whatever copy of the SVG  or AI file you have on your hard drive and edit it. Then save a new version.

2) I'd recommend that you remove all of the clipping paths, clipping masks, opacity masks, gradients, gradient transforms, meshes, and anything else that is not a basic stroked path or a basic filled path.
Videoscribe doesn't really know how to use most of those things so maybe it has a problem exporting SVGs that contain them.

1. Some of the images, yes, are from VideoScribe. Sometimes I want to alter them (different colors, etc.), so I export that .svg from VideoScribe into Illustrator. When I open them, it crashes my program.

1) The one you attached was from an outside source and constructed in a way that might cause problems in videoscribe. When I tried to open it, it did not crash illustrator but it also would not open for me, probably because I use an older version of illustrator. I have provided some suggestions for correcting the problem with that image. As I mentioned, there would be no reason to export it from videoscribe if you already have the ai and /or svg on your hard drive for editing.
2) If videoscribe library images are crashing illustrator, please attach an SVG from the videoscribe library that is crashing illustrator. Also,
3) what version of illustrator are you using? and
4) Please confirm if the SVG is really crashing illustrator (causing illustrator to either freeze up or close completely), or if the SVG is just failing to open and throwing an error message in illustrator? Provide the error message if any.
