There are a number of effects in the first video- You can create a blackboard video by by changing the paper texture and colour on your scribe, and then changing to an appropriate font. Also, we're looking into adding animated GIFs in a future version of VideoScribe.
Regarding the second video, we don't have access to that scribe currently so I can't tell you excatly how it was done, but if you need information on creating your own SVG images please see this instant answer on the topic.
